Platformer comes by email from casey@platformer.news, usually on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings US Eastern time. Every Kindle has its own email address, so the job is getting each issue to that address. Serifize does that for you: it turns each issue into a Kindle ebook, with its images and a cover page, and sends it to your Kindle. It's free for 3 newsletters a month, and unlimited is $36 a year.
Set it up
- Sign up for Serifize and enter your Kindle's
@kindle.comaddress. - Add your Serifize address to Amazon's Approved Personal Document E-mail List. There are direct links for every Amazon store.
- Send Platformer to your Serifize address, either by subscribing with it or with the Gmail filter below.
The Gmail filter for Platformer
Paste this into Gmail's search box:
from:casey@platformer.news
Then open the search options (the sliders icon at the right of the search box), click Create filter, tick Forward it to, choose your Serifize address and click Create filter. Each new issue stays in your inbox and a copy goes to your Kindle. The first time, Gmail will ask you to add your Serifize address as a forwarding address; the Gmail guide covers that step.
Doing it without Serifize
You can also forward each issue to your @kindle.com address yourself, for free, after adding your own email to the approved list. You'd have to do it for every issue, and Amazon converts the raw email, so buttons, footers and tracking images often come along with the article.
Serifize isn't affiliated with Platformer. Sender details are from issues we delivered in October 2026.
